christine_gaber_100Christine Gaber, RHN

Christine Gaber began her working career in a computer department. After supervising a data entry department she spent time as a Forms Analyst and a Methods and Procedures Analyst. She left her analyst career to take on the fulfilling, hectic and exciting career of motherhood. She enjoyed her job as a Mom so much she never looked back. Wanting to spend time with her family, Christine found various activities to keep her busy such as: operating a small home-based business, active membership on school councils, child care, being the ‘neighbourhood Mom’, as well as maintaining various part-time jobs including being a lunchtime school supervisor. Her involvement with children, particularly supervising lunch hours, peaked her interest in the field of nutrition as she quickly noticed the connection between diet and behaviour as well as overall health. Disappointment on a personal level with the medical community motivated her to search for alternative answers to her concerns and challenges. Realizing that nutrition is the basis for all health and the starting point for any healing or recovery, she decided to return to school to study holistic nutrition. She graduated with honours.

Armed with her designation as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Christine has helped numerous clients improve their state of health. She enjoyed dealing with customers while working part-time at a health food store. Her desire to educate others on how to understand and support their body resulted in teaching health classes to small groups with a homeopathic doctor.

Christine has taken her knowledge of holistic nutrition and her desire to educate and combined this with her excellent organizational skills, her forms development experience and her creative talents to develop and design “Why Do I Feel This Way?”  She continues with her love of writing and educating and has several other projects in the works. She shares her holistic health awareness and knowledge with whoever will listen. Christine loves family life with her husband, daughter and son (young adults now) and expanding family of nieces and nephews.

A Note From the authors

Dear readers,

Our job as holistic nutritionists is to offer advice on matters of nutrition, diet, lifestyle, toxins, cleansing, supplementation, safe personal care and household products, and health in general. Our desire is to ‘make a positive difference’ in people’s health and well-being, as well as, the health of our planet. Our goal is to educate and empower as many people as possible to ‘be the change they wish to see’ for their own sake, and for future generations. We offer numerous possibilities and ideas. We also introduce some new perspectives. We ask that you ‘keep an open mind’.

As nutritionists, we are continually asked “What can I do to help …” or “What should I take for …?” or “Why do I feel …?”. Another very common discussion with clients regards supplementation, in particular matters of quality and effectiveness. We realized a book that addressed these concerns was sadly lacking, leaving people ‘lost in the confusion’. Our desire, in essence, was to put our combined knowledge regarding holistic health, nutrition, supplementation and specific products in a book that can be used as a ‘natural health support system’ by anyone, anytime. A resource of this nature enables those who wish to use diet, lifestyle, supplementation and other natural approaches to support and improve their health and well-being to do so with increased knowledge and confidence.

We compiled the knowledge and experience that has taken us years to gain, translated it into simple and everyday language and easy to understand explanations to create this book. “Why Do I Feel This Way?” attempts to answer exactly that. How can we possibly support our body if we don’t have a basic understanding of how our body works, what it requires to function and what it is trying to tell us? By ‘cutting through the health confusion’ and providing explanations as well as some solid, specific guidelines, we hope to provide some insights for you.

To your health and well-being,
Christine and Charlene
